On your marks, get set, go!
A highlight that cannot be missed during the winter holidays. Step up the pace on Thursday in the ski or snowboard races and compete with other children your age.
All ski school children must make a note of this date! Every Thursday, after the group lesson by Swiss ski and snowboard school, the Betelberg Open is held. The event gives the children a chance to show off what they've learned in their lessons over the week.
While the proud parents share in the thrill at the edge of the slope, the children excitedly wait behind the starting gates for the go go go. The ski goggles are on and the poles ready for the push-off. First, a red gate, then a blue one and it's off into the crouch. The finish line will soon be in sight. Down at the bottom, the little racers are welcomed by the applauding parents. Whether it was enough to make the podium or not isn't important at the Betelberg Open. Every participant is a winner and receives a well-deserved medal at the ranking announcement for taking part. After the ranking announcement, three wild cards are drawn for the final race.
All the children who missed out on a podium spot at the Betelberg Open during the season can take part in the final race.
At the moment, no races may be held due to Covid-19. On Thursdays, a giant slalom is held within the classes during lessons.
There will be no ranking ceremony.
The final race will take place on 3 April 2021.
