The art of paper cutting, with its remarkably detailed images, tells stories about the culture and tradition of the Swiss Alps. Get a sense of this sophisticated technique up close and find out more about the impressive craft.
Paper cutting has attracted an increasing number of fans in the last century. Few people actually know how to create these works of art by working with paper and scissors in this way. In the first part of the course, Elisabeth Beutler will share fascinating facts about traditional Simmental paper cutting and its production. In the second part, you yourself can try your hand at the technique of paper cutting.
Take a souvenir home that you have cut yourself.
The course takes place at Berghaus Iffigenalp.
The course costs CHF 50.– per person including a self-cut souvenir.
Tuesday 2 June to 11 August, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 22 September to 13 October, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Other dates are possible on request.
