Experience a morning on the alp
On the alp «Unter Albrist», with the family of Magdalena and Matthias Gobeli, there is plenty to discover for young and old during the alpine summer. At around 1,700 m above sea level - at the foot of St. Stephan's local mountain Albristhorn - you are guaranteed to experience alpine culture up close.
Watch how an alpine cheese is made, try some of the Britsche and taste a piece of fine alpine cheese. Gobeli's serve a café, fresh milk, tea or a glass of syrup and are happy to answer any questions. Children will certainly enjoy themselves as well. In addition to the cows, goats, chickens, pigs and calves are also kept and can be visited and stroked. The alp is also located in a very beautiful hiking area. An insider tip is a ½-hour detour to the Albristseeli. Right next to the huts, by a little stream, there is also the possibility of barbecuing or having a picnic and playing.

Price for adults: CHF 15.–, for accompanied children CHF 5.–, maximum price for families with 2 or more children CHF 40.–.
Accessibility
In Matten village centre (St. Stephan) turn off in the direction of «Zu Hälige». The alp «Unter Albrist» is located at the end of the passable road and is easily accessible by car. For the upper hut «Eggmeder» (from about the end of July to the end of August) there is an additional ½-hour walk.
