How to find us

The pathway to your destination It’s easy to reach your destination of Lenk-Simmental either by car or by train from the Swiss capital city of Berne. The Simmental is the first along your approach to the Bernese Oberland and begins along Lake Thun at Spiez.

By public transport (bus & train)

Travel comfortably with the Lötschberger excursion train via Bern – Spiez – Zweisimmen or with the GoldenPass Panoramic (MOB) via Montreux – Zweisimmen to our destination Lenk-Simmental. The beautiful valley invites you to a varied train journey.

And the Lenk Bus will take you to the most popular places outside the village – the waterfall Simmenfälle, the Bühlberg and many other destinations. In the winter, buses regularly leave from the train station to ferry skiers to the lift stations at Betelberg and Metsch.

Summer

Public transport incl.

In the experience area between the Simmental and the Saanenland, public transport is free to use with the SIMMENTAL CARD from 1 June to 31 October.

Iffigenalp

During summer season, a bus drives you to the Iffigenalp. We recommend reservations for the bus to Iffigenalp by 5 p.m. a day in advance.

Bus alpin

Bus alpin services include Iffigenalp and Laubbärgli bus lines of AFA at Lenk.

Winter

Bus lines included (also in Adelboden)

All bus routes at Lenk are free for guests and/or locals paying the guest taxes. During winter time, also the bus lines in Adelboden and the bus line Matten – St. Stephan – Lengebrand (Chemistube) are included. The SIMMENTAL CARD has to be shown while entering in the bus.

Skibus St. Stephan

From 23 December 2023 to 17 March 2024, the ski bus leaves from St. Stephan and leads snow sports fans to Lengebrand.

Only one train change from Berne to Lenk

The Lötschberger train takes you hourly from Bern directly to Zweisimmen, where you’ll change trains to catch the 20 minute regional train to Lenk. All information and ticket prices can be found here.

Luggage transport

Travel to us comfortably and in a climate-friendly way by public transport and leave your luggage to travel on its own. The SBB offers various options for the transport of your luggage and your sports equipment. The SBB luggage service will now be handled by the Tourist Center, Rawilstrasse 3, in Lenk.

GoldenPass Line Montreux – Zweisimmen (MOB)

Enjoy the dreamlike landscape between Lake Geneva and the Bernese Oberland aboard the GoldenPass Panoramic from Montreux to Zweisimmen.

Car

Traveling on the A6 motorway Bern – Thun, take the Wimmis/Zweisimmen exit through the Simmenfluh Tunnel, on the other side of which begins your journey up the Simme River Valley. The main road in the valley, the Simmentalstrasse, is open year-round.

Coming from Bulle and the Canton of Freiburg, one can reach Lenk via Charmey by traveling over the Jaunpass into the Simmental (Boltigen) or by traveling via Château d’Oex – Saanen – Zweisimmen.

Summer

Blue zone on the market place and waiting room Halten (above Chäs-Spycher).

Base station Betelberg and Metsch, Brüggmatte, Halten, icre rink and Murersrohr are free in summer.

The parking space Wallisermatte is not available in summer.

Winter car parking at Lenk

Apps

Parking fees can be paid cashless via Parkingpay, Easypark or paybyphone (also available as a mobile app), as well as with Twint. Parking tickets can also be obtained from the municipality of Lenk or the Tourist Center Lenk.

Parking prohibited

Parking on the pavement is prohibited. The control of stationary traffic is carried out by a security company. Offending motorists will be fined according to the administrative fine decree.

Limited parking availability at the valley stations

Due to the warm temperatures and precipitation, the nature park sites at the valley stations are not available until further notice.

  • Day guests are advised to travel to the main area via Adelboden

Special rules of the roads

Iffigenalp

During summer the road is an alternating one-way road from Hubelmatte.
The road travels «up»: x.30 – x.45
The road travels «down»: x.00 – x.15

Between 8.00 p.m. and 7.30 a.m. there is no restriction about driving up or down, please count with oncoming traffic during this time slot.

In the winter the road to Iffigenalp is closed (in force from 3 November 2023).

Bühlberg

In winter, alternating one-way traffic with half-hourly changes of direction applies on Bühlbergstrasse during the day. In force from the last weekend before Christmas until and including the Sunday of the second weekend in March.

There may be a chain obligation depending on snow conditions.

Between 5.45 p.m. and 6.45 a.m. there is no restriction about driving up or down, please count with oncoming traffic during this time slot. Tire chains are required.

The Simmental is only a few hours away from the Zürich, Basel, or Geneva international airports, and a flight that takes you directly to Bern-Belp is practically in the Bernese Oberland already. Once in Belp, it’s a 1h drive by car or a relaxing 1h 45min by train.
