Erlenbach

The first highlight in the Simmental. The Stockhorn cable car leads to the summit at 2,190 m above sea level with a panoramic restaurant.

The panorama platform on the north face of the Stockhorn is right next door. It is also easily accessible for families with baby carriages and people with walking disabilities or in wheelchairs. The panoramic view is fantastic: the town of Thun, Lake Thun and the Aare and Gürbe valleys lie at your feet. The view stretches from the Central Plateau to the Jura and, on clear days, even as far as Alsace and the southern Black Forest.

The village of Erlenbach boasts time-honored farmhouses, a medieval church with remarkable murals and the valley museum in the Agensteinhaus.

In summer, the adventure trails around the two mountain lakes at the middle station delight young and old alike.
