Celts, goblins and a mystical place.

From Boltigen the trail veers steeply up the southern valley side to the foothills of Mt. Niederhore. The colourful mire landscape helps us to climb with pleasure as if we were walking on cotton wool. We get to Grat Luegle (1,910 metres above sea level) via Alp Bunschlere. We cross the Gestelen and briefly climb the nearest col. From there our gaze wanders over the idyllic Lake Seeberg against the backdrop of the majestic Mt. Seehore with its magnificent stone pine forest belt. Lake Seeberg is considered a mystical place and is the perfect place for a refreshing swim. The area is steeped in legend and the story about the Devil‘s footstep is just one of many. The bizarre rock formations of Mt. Spillgerten on the horizon lead us to Alp Stierenberg.

Highlights:

  • A hiking guide tells a legend against the backdrop of Lake Seeberg
  • Observing chamois and ibexes in the quiet morning and evening hours
