First, we take the Stand-Xpress up around 1000 meters in altitude to 2100 m above sea level. The Metschstand is the starting point for various hikes. This one takes us along the first section close to the ridge down to the Metschhorn. Some people may be familiar with this area from winter, as the Guetfläck T-bar lift is very close by. The trail continues past alpine farms and soon enters the Ruttiwald forest. After the Ruttiwald forest, the trail turns a sharp corner and follows the Loueneweg to the middle station of the Stand-Xpress.
