We wish you a safe journey to the Simmental and a pleasant stay in our vacation destination.

By public transport (bus & train)

Travel in comfort on the Lötschberger excursion train via Bern - Spiez - Zweisimmen or with the GoldenPass Panoramic (MOB) via Montreux - Zweisimmen to our destination Lenk-Simmental. The beautiful valley invites you to enjoy a varied train journey.

And the bus takes you to the most popular excursion destinations outside the village - be it the Simmen Falls, the Bühlberg, the Reka Center or the Iffigenalp. In winter, a bus also runs for winter sports enthusiasts between the Betelberg and Metsch valley stations (via the railroad station).

Public transport incl. summer

In the adventure area between the Simmental and the Saanenland, public transport can be used free of charge with the SIMMENTAL CARD.

Iffigenalp

In summer, we recommend booking the bus to Iffigenalp by 5.00 pm the day before.

Bus Alpin

In Lenk, the Iffigenalp and Laubbärgli bus routes of the AFA are affiliated to the Bus alpin association.

Bus routes included (also in Adelboden)

The Lenk bus routes are included for guests of the Simmental who pay the tourist tax and for locals of Lenk. In winter, the bus lines in Adelboden (only when skiing) and the ski bus from Matten - Lengebrand (Chemistube) can also be used free of charge. The SIMMENTAL CARD serves as ID for bus use.

St. Stephan ski bus

From 23 December 2023 to Sunday, 17 March 2024, the ski bus will run from St. Stephan and take snow sports enthusiasts to Lengebrand.

With just 1 change from Bern to Lenk

The RegioExpress Lötschberger takes you from Bern directly to Zweisimmen every hour, where you change to the regional train to Lenk im Simmental. All information and price examples for travelling with the Lötschberger can be found here.

Luggage transport

Travel to us comfortably and climate-friendly by public transport and let your luggage travel on its own. SBB offers various options for transporting your luggage and sports equipment. The SBB luggage service is now handled by the Tourist Centre, Rawilstrasse 3, in Lenk.

GoldenPass line Montreux - Zweisimmen (MOB)

Enjoy the marvellous scenery between Lake Geneva and the Bernese Oberland on board the GoldenPass Panoramic from Montreux to Zweisimmen.

Groups of 10 people or more are required to make a reservation on all bus routes. Reservations can be made here.

Car

If you are traveling by car from Bern, take the A6 Bern - Thun freeway. The Wimmis/Zweisimmen exit takes you through the Simmenfluh tunnel before you reach the beautiful Simmental. Access to the villages of the Lenk-Simmental destination is possible all year round on the well-maintained Simmental road.

From Bulle (canton of Fribourg) you can reach the Simmental via Charmey - Jaunpass - Boltigen or via Château d'Oex - Saanen - Zweisimmen.

Summer

Blue zone on the market square and Halten waiting room (above Chäs-Spycher).

The Betelberg and Metsch valley stations, Brüggmatte, Halten, the ice rink and Murersrohr are free of charge in summer.

The Wallisermatte car park is not available in summer.

Winter

Apps

Parking fees can be paid cashless via Parkingpay, Easypark or paybyphone (also available as a mobile app), as well as with Twint. Car park tickets can also be purchased from the municipality of Lenk or the Lenk Tourist Centre.

Parking bans

Parking on the pavement is prohibited. Control of stationary traffic is carried out by a security company. Offending motorists will be fined in accordance with the Ordnungsbußendekret.

Iffigenalp

In summer, one-way traffic applies from Hubelmatte during the day.
Ascent: x.30 to x.45 hrs
Descents: x.00 to x.15 hrs

Two-way traffic is to be expected between 8.00 pm and 7.30 am.

The road to Iffigenalp is closed in winter.

Bühlberg

In winter, alternating one-way traffic with half-hourly changes of direction applies on Bühlbergstrasse during the day. In force from the last weekend before Christmas (Saturday of the fourth Advent weekend) up to and including the Sunday of the second weekend in March.

Depending on snow conditions, there is a chain obligation.

Ascent: x.45 to x.15 hrs
Downhill runs: x.15 to x.45 hrs

Oncoming traffic is to be expected between 5.45 pm and 6.45 am.

Airplane

The Simmental is only a few hours away from the international airports of Zurich, Basel and Geneva, and with a direct flight to Bern/Belp Airport you are almost in the Bernese Oberland. Once you arrive in Belp, you are only an hour's drive or 1h 45min by train from Lenk.
