Trailknigge - Hikers and bikers, together we share the trail

For peaceful coexistence. Travelling with respect and tolerance. Consideration on (the) trail.

Say Sälü

Sharing paths makes you happy. A friendly greeting breaks any ice.

Ringing

Bikers make themselves noticed early, but without pushing.

After you

Hikers have right of way. Bikers pass other trail users slowly or descend briefly.

Stay safe

Shortcuts are taboo, that's a point of honour! Do not lock the rear wheel when braking, as this will ruin the route.

Moo, close the door!

Pass the gate slowly and close it if necessary. Respect for cows (suckler cow husbandry).

Gniesses

Hikers have right of way. Bikers pass other trail users slowly or descend briefly.

Tip for bikers! Avoid busy paths. Ride at off-peak times when it is usually quiet on the trails.

Alpine etiquette

Daran halten wir uns für erholsame Ferien und zur Sorgfalt für die Natur, Tiere sowie die Menschen.

WE TAKE OUR WASTE BACK WITH US.

WE USE THE EXISTING BARBECUE AREAS.

WE STAY ON THE MARKED TRAILS AND THUS PROTECT ANIMALS AND THE NATURAL HABITAT.

WE ENJOY THE TRANQUILLITY OF NATURE.

WE WEAR THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT WHEN WE ARE OUT AND ABOUT IN THE MOUNTAINS.

WE USE THE PATHS TOGETHER AND RESPECT OTHERS.

Encountering cows: how to do it right

When hiking, you come across herds of cows time and again. To ensure that these encounters run smoothly, the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention in Agriculture (BUL) has drawn up three main rules and Suckler Cow Switzerland and the Swiss Hiking Trail Association have produced a short film on the subject.

ANIMALS ON A LARGE SCALE. IN RETURN, THE ALPINE MEADOWS MAY ALSO BE ENTERED.

NEVER TOUCH CALVES AND COWS.

KEEP DOGS ON A SHORT LEAD.
