Tree of security.
From the Alp Stierenberg, it goes onto the Fromattgrat. On one side, the Diemtigtal can be seen, and on the other side, the Simmental. The massif of the Spillgerte is bypassed through wooded terrain. The mountain forest here, mostly made up of spruce and sycamore maples, provides protection to the Alps and settlements from the steep and rocky slopes of the mountains. The spruce is a symbol of protection and security; its wood is also used for building Simmental houses. At the transition to the Färmel valley, the Höuweggli, there is a phenomenal view and a final steep descent lies ahead. The year-round inhabited settlements are charmingly nestled between large sycamore maples in this high valley.
Highlights:
- View of the wild Spillgerte (Dolomites of the Simmental)
- 10-minute detour from Höuweggli to the Mieschflue (2,101 m above sea level)
- Large anthills near the path between Vehsattel and Färmel
Accommodation at the stage destination: Currently, there is unfortunately no accommodation available in the Färmel valley.
