From the Bühlberg bus stop the signposted snowshoe route starts almost level in a north-easterly direction. Across open snowfields you hike towards the sparse forest in the direction of Schwandweidli. You cross snow-covered streams, make your way through snow-laden firs, and cross solitary forest clearings. After passing the Schwandweidli hut you are near the wildlife protection area. Here, despite the inviting pristine powder snow, you should stay on the signposted route and leave the animals their important habitat. On the return journey towards Loosegg you follow an almost level summer trail. Shortly before Loosegg, turn left and climb through semi-open terrain up to Bühlberg.
