From Zweisimmen railway station, take the bus to the starting point at the DAO Sparenmoos seminar house. From there, the route descends gently in a north-easterly direction to the Site Alp, where a breathtaking view of the Simmental opens up. On the Site Alp, the buvette invites you to take a cosy break. The way back leads uphill in a south-westerly direction over a ridge back to the DAO Sparenmoos seminar house.

  • Approach

    The Destination Gstaad is located in the south-west of Switzerland right on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The Destination is easily accessed by rail or car from the regions around Lake Thun and Lake Geneva and the Gruyere region Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant journey. The main means of transport in the destination of Gstaad are the "MOB" (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) train and numerous post bus lines.

    Due to the limited number of parking spaces, we recommend parking at the train station in Zweisimmen and then taking the bus.

  • This snowshoe tour is signposted.

    Everyone is responsible for route selection and assessment of their own experience, ability and alpine dangers on tours in ascent and descent in the alpine region.

    Notes

    Snowshoeing requires appropriate preparation (training, equipment) and good conditions regarding the weather as well the avalanche situation. The time indications are approximate values and significant for skilled snowshoe walkers and good weather conditions.
