EFG is the new partner of the Swiss Open Gstaad

Gstaad on January 31st, 2022 – The Swiss Open Gstaad welcomes a new partner, EFG International, a leading Swiss private bank. As of this year, the historic tennis tournament in the Bernese Oberland will be known as the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad. In addition, the tournament organizers, Grand Chelem Event SA, have confirmed the participation of last year's winner, Norwegian Casper Ruud (ATP 8), and Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut (ATP 18). Ticket sales will start in March.

The Swiss Open Gstaad (16-24 July 2022) and EFG are entering a multi-year partnership. "We are extremely pleased to join forces with EFG to develop the Swiss Open Gstaad in a sustainable way. We are entering into a partnership with enthusiastic people who want to contribute to increasing the international profile of the tournament," said Jeff Collet, Tournament Director.

Franco Polloni, Head of Switzerland & Italy Region at EFG, added: "I am very pleased with our new partnership with the Swiss Open Gstaad, one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in Switzerland. As a well-established tournament in the annual sporting calendar, it is a source of inspiration and encouragement for many ambitious young players. We also hope to contribute to the promotion of tennis in Switzerland through our involvement, as the support of young talent is a major focus for EFG.”

The return of two leading players
Last year's winner, Norwegian Casper Ruud (ATP 8), and Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut (ATP 18) will once again hit the clay courts of the Roy Emerson Arena this summer.
Last summer, Ruud went on a clay court title binge with triumphs in Geneva, Bastad, Gstaad and Kitzbühel. The crowning glory of this successful season was his participation in the ATP Finals in Turin, where he only lost in the semi-finals to US Open champion Daniil Medvedev (RUS, ATP 2).
Bautista Agut, meanwhile, will be looking to win his first title in Gstaad in his fifth appearance. A finalist in 2018, he only lost in the final to Italy's Matteo Berrettini in two sets and will be keen on bringing the Swiss Open Gstaad trophy back to Spain.
