On the Betelberg family mountain, hiking becomes a playful experience for your children. At the play stations on the 4 km long lynx trail, children discover the way of life and behaviour of wild cats.
The hike begins at the Leiterli mountain station. On a good, mostly gently sloping natural road, you hike past the famous Hasler Hochmoor. On the way, you will learn lots of interesting facts about the lynx and its habitat. Follow the lynx or fox tracks. Where do you think the animals are hiding? Life-size dummies of the lynx and its prey, such as deer and chamois, are placed along the trail. As the lynx is a shy and very cautious animal, you should not tackle the lynx trail expecting to encounter real lynx. The lynx trail combines playful elements and art. Play stations made of wood inspire children during the hike. Art comes into its own with wooden sculptures and a giant painting at the middle station of the Wallegg chairlift (winter operation only!). The Lenk airbrush artist Philipp Klopfenstein has transformed the winter infrastructure station into a work of art. Pass the artwork and you will come to the fireplace. Take a break here and practise your long jump. How far can you jump from a standing start? The lynx jumps over five metres! Before you reach the end of the trail at the Wallegg restaurant, admire the wooden sculptures by the Brienz wood sculptors.
