On the Alpine Flower Trail on the Betelberg, Mother Nature is the gardener! On the 1.6 km long circular trail there are around 90 signs to help you recognize the well-known and lesser-known alpine flowers.
The entrance to the Original Alpine Flower Trail (circular trail) on the Betelberg is at 2'000 m above sea level and is located directly at the Leiterli mountain station. Simmental cows spend the summer on the alp, surrounded by the most beautiful alpine flower meadows. Suddenly a butterfly flies away, a dragonfly buzzes by the pond or a lark sings. And with a bit of luck, a marmot will whistle to you. Many marmots have their burrows around the Alpine Flower Trail and can be seen during the day. Take time to marvel at them. Enjoy the slowness.
