Challenging mountain hike from Fermel Valley to Höuweggli at the foot of Spillgerte and to the viewpoint of Mieschflue. Then a rocky descent from Ussere Höuweggli to Gandbodewald and via Dachboden back to Fermel Valley.

  • Approach

    Access to Matten (St. Stephan) via Thun – Wimmis. In Matten, follow the signposts towards Fermel Valley.

  • By train from Bern via Zweisimmen to Matten/St. Stephan. Then take a taxi to Stalden/Fermel Valley. Check the timetable at SBB.

  • Parking is available at the schoolyard of the former Fermel schoolhouse, about 600 m downhill (from the start of the hiking trail) on the left side, slightly elevated. WARNING: The parking spaces at the Alpenrose restaurant are reserved exclusively for guests!

  • Stalde - Höuweggli - Mieschflue - Ussers Höuweggli - Gandbodenwald - Dachboden - Stalde
