This route is suitable for the whole family. On the way to the Simmenfälle, the view of the Wildstrubel massif is a constant companion. At the Restaurant Simmenfälle, the steep rock walls of the Ammerthor are within reach. The roaring Simmenfälle are a natural spectacle that can be comfortably admired just a few steps from the Restaurant Simmenfälle. The path runs along side roads and natural paths away from traffic and passes several barbecue spots. A detour to the AlpKultur playground by Lenkerseeli is worthwhile. The return journey can be done on the same route or on the road, respectively from Rothenbach along a natural road following the Simme.

No technical challenges are expected on this route.

  • Approach

    From Bern via the highway to Latterbach, then take the junction into the Simmental. At Zweisimmen, take the roundabout towards Lenk.

    From Fribourg via the Jaun Pass into the Simmental.

  • Lenk is accessible by train. Timetable SBB.

  • There are public parking spaces in the village of Lenk.

  • There are some barbecue areas along the way and at the Simmenfälle is the Hotel Restaurant Simmenfälle.

    At the playground by Lenkerseeli there is a kiosk and a toilet.

    The route can be ridden in both directions and is also suitable for bikes with trailers.
