The first section of this route leads from Saanen via Unterbort to the Grischbach valley. Then the route rises up to Mittelberg. From here the descent begins to the remote village of Abländschen, followed by a rather flat section to Jaun. In Jaun, just before the village center, turn left onto the gravel road to Im Fang. In Im Fang, cross the main road and continue via the single trail to Pra Jean, where the Vallée du Gros Mont begins. The first part of the valley is rather flat before the ascent begins zig-zagging to the high plateau. The strenuous climb is rewarded with untouched nature and peace. From there it goes past Vanil Noir, the highest mountain of the canton of Fribourg, and via Rougemont back to Saanen.

The holiday region of Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, directly on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun Lake region, the Geneva Lake area and the Greyerz region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and all international airports of Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant arrival. The main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" railway (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous postal bus lines.
