After crossing the high plateau, it is about 900 meters of ascent to the Frühstücksplatz over a regular north/northeast slope. Depending on the snow conditions, the crossing to the Frühstücksplatz is a technical challenge. Large snow accumulations and wind often cause big drifts there. The Frühstücksplatz is the perfect place for a breakfast break, as the name suggests, before the steep ascent over the Ammertengletscher glacier towards the summit. The higher you ascend, the flatter the glacier becomes. From the summit, you have an impressive view of the peaks in the Valais and Bernese Oberland. The Wildstrubel itself stretches from west to east and consists of three nearly equally high summits: the actual Wildstrubel (3244 m a.s.l.), also called "Lenkerstrubel," the middle summit (3243.5 m a.s.l.), and the Grossstrubel (3243 m a.s.l.), the goal of this route.
The descent through the Ammertal involves a few fairly challenging, beautiful slopes. With good snow, this descent is one of the best in the region. Past the Ammerten hut, the Rezliberg is reached all too quickly. The last part of the route leads partly over the road, partly over meadows until the destination, the Simmenfälle restaurant, is reached.
