The route starts at Jaunpass and follows the small road to Bädermoos, the highest point of the route. Where cows graze in summer, there is wonderful silence in winter. The route leads downhill through snowy fields and forests to Eschihalten on the Jaunpass road. There you can take the bus TPF No. 206 back to Jaunpass or to Boltigen station.

The route can of course also be done in the opposite direction.

  • Approach

    Access to Boltigen via Thun – Wimmis. In Boltigen/Reidenbach follow the turnoff to Jaunpass.

    Access from Bulle via Charmey – Jaun to Jaunpass.

  • Take the train to Boltigen, then a bus connection to Jaunpass. Check the timetable at SBB.

  • There is a public paid parking lot at Jaunpass.

  • Directions: Jaunpass (1504 m) – Zügwegen – Bädermoos – Chalbismoss – Eschihalten (1207 m). The route can of course also be done in the opposite direction.

    The route runs over snowy unprepared paths, which are only passable with snowshoes. This snowshoe route is signposted and can be done without previous knowledge.

  • For snowshoe routes, the appropriate equipment and necessary expertise (avalanche knowledge, alpine skills) are mandatory! Those without experience assessing avalanche conditions in open terrain should go snowshoeing with a qualified mountain guide.

  • Snowshoes, warm clothes, and winter boots.

  • To shorten the waiting time for the bus, it is recommended to stop at the Eschihalten restaurant and warm up.
