First, you take the Stand-Xpress up around 1000 meters in altitude to 2100 m above sea level. Before you set off, the Metschstand mountain restaurant is a great place to stop for a bite to eat and relax on the mountain.

The Metschstand is the starting point for various hikes. This one takes us to the Brenggen reservoir after the first section of the hiking trail. The Caribbean-style reservoir in the Brenggenmädern attracts everyone's attention. The view over the green upper Simmental has a special charm. Afterwards, it is worth making a short detour to the Hahnenmoospass, where the Hahnenmoos mountain restaurant of the same name treats its guests. The hiking trail continues partly through the forest and through farmed alpine pastures down to the Metsch middle station.
