Starting in Matten, the route initially follows the road briefly to avoid walking through dense steep forest. After a few elevation meters, the first clearings in the forest are reached. From Brandweidleni, the ridge is followed to the summit. The mountain panorama on Schatthore is one of the most beautiful in the Obersimmental. The descent follows the ascent track and is technically easy to navigate and nowhere steep.

Classification according to the SAC difficulty scale for ski routes: WS -
