This ski tour follows the signposted snowshoe trail and is therefore the ideal beginner ski tour. The start of the route is at Hubelmatte, from where the route leads near the impressive and winter-frozen Iffigfall over fields and through clearings in the Summerwald forest. The further ascent up to the Pörisgrat leads through untouched winter landscape in open terrain. On the ridge, which is more a broad back than a ridge, the panorama of Albristhorn, Metschstand, and Oberlaubhorn is definitely a reason to pause and take a photo. The descent follows back over the mountain ridge to the Lischböden, from where it goes through wooded areas from clearing to clearing, hopefully through the finest powder snow, back to Hubelmatte.

  • Approach

From Lenk towards Iffigenalp up to the Hubelmatte parking lot.

  • From Lenk train station, take the bus to Alpenrösli. Note very limited departure times. Timetable: SBB. From Alpenrösli, walk 15 minutes along the road upstream to Hubelmatte.

  • There are a few parking spaces at Hubelmatte in winter. Travel by Taxi 4x4 from Lenk or by bus to Alpenrösli is preferable.

  • The route follows the signposted snowshoe trail to the Pörisgrat.

  • This ski tour follows the signposted snowshoe trail and is therefore the ideal ski tour for beginners. To undertake further ski tours, knowledge in avalanche assessment or a mountain guide/snow sports instructor is mandatory to safely navigate the mountains.

  • As with any ski tour, an avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel, and crampons are part of the equipment.

  • The reverse direction of the snowshoe trail makes the ascent with touring skis somewhat more pleasant.
