Vogelfütterung im Winter - Infoanlässe

14.10.2025 - 26.11.2025

Feeding birds during the winter months has a long tradition. Proper supplementary feeding can make survival easier for the species that stay with us in winter. The cold demands a lot from the animals, and they have to expend large amounts of energy.
Feeding stations in the garden provide a good opportunity to observe the beautiful birds up close and bring joy to young and old alike.

• Is winter feeding sensible? Should one feed all year round?
• Which feeders are suitable, and where should they be placed correctly?
• What food is best suited?
• Preventing diseases; how to properly clean the feeding station?
• Attention hazards! Collisions with windows, lurking cats.

Myrta Wüthrich, a certified field ornithologist and excursion leader, will answer all these questions at these informative events, and you will learn everything about the principles of species-appropriate winter feeding. She will show you examples of feeders and bird food, how to set up an optimal feeding station in your own garden, and whether your garden is even suitable for this, as certain conditions should be met. Patience-taken bird pictures show which species visit the feeding stations.
