He grew up in Lenk, was a farmer, carpenter, real estate trustee and is a keen mountaineer and cultural creator.

Hans-Ueli Hählen has traveled all over the world, but has an extremely strong connection to his roots, Lenk. He knows it like the back of his hand. Hans-Ueli draws on his wealth of experience and knowledge to give it lively and entertaining to his public.

Village tour:

• Lively stories about the history of the village of Lenk. You will learn things that you probably had no idea about.

Lecture:

• Plaine Morte and its glacial lakes: Hans-Ueli was in charge of the monitoring facilities on the Plaine Morte for 9 years. He talks about the formation of the lakes and the pronounced changes in this area over the last few decades, as well as his experiences as the person in charge of the monitoring station at almost 3000 m above sea level.
• The old Lenk as it once was: from 1504 with the first church building to the present day. The development of a mountain village over the centuries.
• Stories from Lenk: Experiences from Hans-Ueli's life in connection with the mountains and agriculture. Tales that Hans-Ueli experienced and wrote himself or were told by older generations and legends from the region. Village tour: up to 70 locations in the village are shown and explained - their significance, history, curious facts and lots of unexpected things.
• The secrets of Lenk: This is especially for people who are already somewhat familiar with Lenk. Hans-Ueli has answers to questions such as: Why is there a Flöschwägli? Why is there a bunker in Pöschenried? Why does the Simme have a woody bottom?

Guided hikes:

• Hike on the AlpRundweg: The AlpRundweg focuses on alpine life and alpine farming. Hans-Ueli has many anecdotes to tell from his own time as a mountain farmer.
• Hike on the Gryden high-altitude circular trail: The Gryden high-altitude circular trail is all about the special geology with the Lenk lunar landscape and the surrounding mountains.
