Located above Boltigen, the Bäderhorn is a panoramic mountain in a class of its own. The view sweeps through the Simmental to the Gastlosen and on clear days you can even spot the 4,000-metre peaks around the Finsteraarhorn and Mont Blanc in the far distance.
The start of the summit experience is on the Jaunpass and leads through the alpine pasture to a saddle, from where the path first zigzags up more steeply and then runs over the ridge to the summit. The summit of the Bäderhorn is just over 2,000 meters above sea level, namely 8 meters above sea level. This hike with a summit experience is one of the easier ones, but you should nevertheless be sure-footed. The route of a good 9 km and 500 vertical meters can be completed in the foreseeable future. And at the highest point, at the summit cross, you are rewarded with a 360-degree panorama. On the ascent or descent, it is worth stopping off at the Bäderalp alpine restaurant. The hiking trail leads right past the restaurant. It is famous for its delicious, homemade sun oven meringues. Other delicacies are also served and cheese produced on the alp can be purchased in the cheese cellar. And as mentioned at the beginning, the sunrises and sunsets are phenomenal and a real nature experience.
