For centuries, the water of the Wallbach stream has carved meter-deep, cylindrical holes in the limestone.
Just a few minutes from the village center of Lenk, the Wallbach rushes through its gorge. The water takes its course at the top of this side valley and many tributaries along the way. The gorge is a fascinating sight, as the water has polished and eroded the limestone over the centuries. It flows through bubbling holes through this small canyon and flows into a waterfall. It's hard to imagine that a restaurant once stood back here a long time ago. On warm days, it is nice and cool in the gorge. The water in the wide stream bed invites you to splash around and build "Steinmändli".
