The tour starts in the village of Lenk, from where the ascent towards Leiterli leads first on asphalt and later on a gravel road through mostly wooded terrain up to Balemad. There the Wallbach is crossed and the steep final bouquet follows up the Haslerberg and on to the Leiterli. After a well-earned break at Berghaus Leiterli, it's time for the most beautiful part of every bike tour, the descent. A wide cart track takes you past the reservoir to Steinstoss, where the first section of singletrail into Aebi awaits. The route continues along wide roads until you reach the real highlight. The Summerwald Trail is an initially flowing trail that leads through a secluded, beautiful forest area. Further down, roots and bends provide the necessary variety and technical improvement. The last section to the Chimpach bridge is a welcome challenge for the technically experienced. Alternatively, this section can be bypassed on the easier alpine road. The road provides a breather before the next trail, which flows along the Iffigbach stream. The last section can be ridden on the asphalt road back to Lenk, or via a short but crisp ascent over the Seefluh and down the trail to the Betelberg valley station.

The ascent can also be made with the Betelberg gondola lift.
