The start of this route is in Zweisimmen at the Rinderberg gondola. The first good 1,000 meters of altitude are covered by the gondola. Before the first descent section from Rinderberg Spitz towards Parwengebire, about 20 meters of elevation have to be crossed on foot over the back of the Rinderberg. The second part of the descent really starts from the mountain restaurant Horneggli. Via single trails, forest and hiking paths, we descend into the fashionable Gstaad. Over district and main roads, we roll to the valley station Wispile.
Another gondola ride is waiting for us. The gondola can transport up to 4 bikes. A short break with coffee and cake at Wispile shortens the waiting time until all bikes have arrived at the mountain station. Enjoy the high trail from the Wispile mountain station. The next descent via existing hiking trails to Lauenen is fun. Through the Louwen valley, we return to Gstaad. From here, the route continues over asphalt road or the marked bike path towards Rougemont in the Vaud region.
The third mountain railway easily lifts us again to the next starting point la Videmanette or Rocher à Pointes. Another very varied descent, exclusively on hiking trails, takes us down to the very picturesque Ruebeldorf near Saanen. The climb to Schönried is done under your own power via Ebnit, Gruben up to Schönried. An alternative would be the post bus.
The fourth and last mountain railway Schönried – Horneggli is a chairlift. With larger groups, allow sufficient time. A second coffee at the mountain station is a very good option to bridge any waiting time. The descent to Saanenmöser leads over very nice single trail sections. In Saanenmöser, we ride on the old main road on asphalt up to before Oeschseite. Don’t miss the exciting final part along the Simme. Take the turn towards Rychenstein up to the bridge. This single trail section rounds off the route and the great experiences once again. The circular route can be shortened and adapted at any time.
