Departure is from Violettes, walkers take the cable car up to to the Plaine Morte glacier. The stunning walk, which passes by the Weisshornlücke, allows walkers to enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Rawyl region as well as the expanse and space of the Plaine-Morte and the Wildhorn. The first day ends at the Wildstrubel cabin (the highest in the western part of the Bernese Oberland ) which belongs to the Wildhorn Kaiseregg section of the Club Alpin Suisse. It is next to the "Rohrbachhaus" on a small plateau at 2793 m , to the west of the Weisshorn. The next day, head back down through an Alpine pasture to the Tseuzier lake (Tseuzier Dam) where the brave can take a dip in the icy glacial water, whilst the more sensible may choose to wait until they arrive at the bisse du Ro to go for a paddle... Heading back along the mythical Bisse du Ro irrigation channel allows walkers, practically edging along the rock face, to contemplate the difficulties encoutered by those who constructed these incredible structures, with virtually no technical assistance, centuries ago. This steep path, quite breathtaking, but without any great danger, is however unsuitable for those who suffer from vertigo or who are not in good physical condition. The walk requires two days. (DR)
