From the Plaine Morte glacier to Lenk

The route starts at the top station of the Plaine Morte cable car, which is accessible from Crans-Montana. What could be better than starting a bike route at nearly 3000 m above sea level amid majestic mountain peaks?

The adventure begins with a short descent along a well-ridable high alpine trail passing the Pointe de Vatseret. To reach the actual descent, the bike must be carried another 100 vertical meters to the Wisshorelücke. From this point, it’s all downhill! Past the Wildstrubel hut at 2793 m above sea level, a technically very demanding mountain hiking path with rocky sections leads down to the Rawil Pass. On the exposed alpine path down into the Iffig valley, full concentration is required. The path is steep and only suitable for bikers who are not afraid of heights. Some sections are better managed on foot, as no riding mistakes can be afforded here.

After this demanding descent, the mountain lodge Iffigenalp tempts with delicious specialties. On the Iffigweg, the route then passes through forested areas down to the valley floor at Lenk.
