The easiest and shortest route to the Wildhornhütte leads from the Iffigenalp through the idyllic Iffigtal valley past the Iffigsee lake on a good, unexposed hiking trail. The Iffigsee really is a pearl among the mountain lakes and is beautifully nestled between the steep rock face on one side and the open arena of mountain meadows on the other. A tip for fishermen: you can fish in the Iffigsee with a day permit. The day permit is available from the Berghaus Iffigenalp. On hot days, the brave may even dare to cool off in the cold water. The Wildhornhütte offers food and drink for day visitors and those who want to extend their mountain experience can stay overnight in the hut and enjoy the evening atmosphere in the mountains.
