The tour starts at the train station in Oberwil. Heading out of the valley past Buschen, the route quickly enters a side valley. From the junction on the right towards Morgete, a gravel road leads along the rock face and past the imposing Leiternweide suspension bridge (111 meters long and high). The view becomes more spectacular with every meter of ascent. The Undriste Morgete plateau at 1,473 m above sea level offers a welcome breather before the route climbs more steeply up the mountain to Alp Morgete, the destination of the tour. Mittlist Morgeten is one of 4 alpine pastures belonging to the Morgeten Alpine Corporation. The alp corporations originated in the eighth century from the Alemannic land law. The alp was already used in the Late Stone Age and was farmed in Celtic times. The oldest dated building dates back to 1468. The Alprestaurant Morgete offers a well-earned break before the descent back to Oberwil along the same road.
