The hike starts at Erlenbach railroad station. The first part of the trail leads through the houses to the edge of the village, where the ascent to Bäuert Allmenden begins. The small village of Allmenden is also crossed until you reach the Allmenden forest, where the steep ascent to the viewing platform begins. At the top, the view of the waterfall makes up for the climb. Once you start the descent, you cross the bubbling stream on a bridge. The route leads past Allmenden again, on the terrace above Erlenbach to Bäuert Thal. Once you have left the houses behind you, the hiking trail soon leads across country back to the village of Erlenbach, where you pass the Agensteinhaus valley museum on the last few meters.
