Höhenrundweg Gryden

The Gryden panoramic trail on the Betelberg above Lenk leads through an extraordinary, almost lunar-like landscape. The distinctive rock formations of the Gryden make this mountain hike a special nature experience in the Simmental.

The circular hike starts at the mountain station Leiterli of the Betelberg gondola. The trail leads over the AlpRundweg Leiterli to the Alp Steinstoss and further up to the Stübleni. Along the way, impressive views open up of the valley closure of Lenk and the surrounding mountains.

The highlight of the hike is the Gryden. The crater-like depressions, known as dolines, are created by the slow dissolution of the gypsum rock by rainwater and give the landscape its unique character.

At the highest point, with good visibility, a panorama over the Simmental mountains, the Saanenland, and the Freiburg Alps is offered. Subsequently, the panoramic trail leads back towards Steinstoss and Leiterli. Those who wish can complement the hike with a detour to the mountain hut, the AlpRundweg Leiterli, or the alpine flower path.
