From the Jaunpass car park (1,508m), follow the signs for the snowshoe trail to Oberenegg SAC (1,800m). After an ascent towards Mattenhubel (1,926m) over a long ridge and a slight up and down to the final ascent to Hundsrügg. Once at the top, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Gastlosen towards Wildsturbel and out of the valley to Wimmis. The 360° panorama is more impressive than on many higher mountains. On the descent, there are three short climbs along the ridge. From Oberenegg, you can really enjoy the relatively flat terrain down to the Jaunpass.

Classification according to the SAC difficulty scale for ski tours: L

Approach from Bulle via Charmey - Jaun to the Jaun Pass.

  • By train to Boltigen, followed by a bus connection to the Jaun Pass. Find out about the timetable from the SBB.

  • The appropriate equipment and the necessary expertise (avalanche awareness, alpine skills) are mandatory for ski tours! If you have no experience in assessing the avalanche situation in open terrain, it is better to go on a ski tour with a trained mountain guide.

  • As with any ski tour, your equipment includes an avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel and ski- crampons.
