From the Iffigenalp, the first meters of altitude are gained with a pleasant ascent through the Iffig valley. After this rather leisurely start through the wild valley, the route gradually becomes steeper and after another 300 m you reach the frozen Iffigsee. This is the perfect place to take a break before the rest of the climb. Nestled in the middle of high mountains, the Iffigsee is a true place of power. Refreshed, we continue to the Wildhornhütte. The ascent continues on the route to the Wildhorn as far as the Chilchligletscher before turning left to the Schnidejoch. Remains of Schnidi were found here in 2003, who wanted to cross the pass into Valais 6500 years ago. From here it is only 180 m along the ridge to the summit. The 360° panorama with the Wildhorn, the Valais four-thousand-metre peaks and the Wildstrubel is very impressive.

The descent from the Schnidehore begins with a super beautiful slope to the Chilchligletscher and on to the Wildhornhütte. The second part of the descent is somewhat flatter, but shines with the wide, long slopes down to Iffigenalp.
