If there is enough snow in the valley, the skins can be mounted almost down in St. Stephan. Otherwise you follow the road until there is enough snow and then ski through the forest and fields towards your destination. A little patience is required until the forest on the Chirschbüelhubel clears and the Wistätthore becomes visible. The view over the Obersimmental valley on the ascent over the Lasenberg makes up for the long ascent. From the hinder Laseberg it is then just under 500 m to the summit of the Wistätthore. The panorama is breathtaking.
The descent begins along the ascent route with beautiful slopes. Then either continue along the ascent route via Chirschbüel or enjoy another very beautiful slope into the Dürrewald forest. Along the snow-covered Dürrewaldstrasse, the ascent route is then reached again, which is followed back to St. Stephan.
