A hike to a mountain lake always has its charm. In every season and weather conditions, the water appears in a different color. The Iffigsee is really a gem among mountain lakes and beautifully nestled between the steeply falling rock face on one side and the open arena of mountain meadows on the other. Moreover, the lake lies in the Gelten-Iffigen nature reserve. This technically not very demanding hike first gently ascends into the Iffig valley and then climbs from the Groppi alp up to the Iffigsee. You might see or hear marmots on the way. A tip for anglers: you can fish at the Iffigsee with a day permit. The day permit is available at the mountain hut Iffigenalp. You return on the same path you came up. At the Iffigenalp, the mountain restaurant invites you to stop by.
