First you have to climb the meters in altitude to the ridge to Tierberg. Up to this point, the trail leads through cultivated alpine meadows. The most spectacular part of the hike begins at Tierberg. The path runs along the stony ridge - sometimes wider, sometimes narrower - definitely only for sure-footed hikers with a head for heights. The panoramic view is magnificent and the summit cross of the Albristhorn is soon in sight. From the Albristhorn to the Furggeli, concentration is still required on the alpine route. Then it's out through the long, green and rural Fermeltal valley and down to the train station in Matten, St. Stephan. The less densely populated Fermel valley is enchanting with its quaint houses and seclusion.

Return to the starting point by train from Matten, St. Stephan station.
