Matten - Gfell - St. Stephan - Matten

Round route starting and ending in Matten. The first part of the ascent is paved and leads towards Färmeltal, before the road turns left and continues on a gravel road up to the highest point of the route, the Gfell. Here you have one of the best views of the Simmental valley end. It is said to be the most beautiful in the Alps! The descent to St. Stephan takes place on a paved road. From St. Stephan to Matten, it then goes flat along the bike path over the old military airfield back to the starting point.

This route has no technical difficulties. The surface is consistently gravel or paved.
