The start of this tour is in Zweisimmen at the Rinderberg gondola lift. The first 1,000 meters in altitude are covered with the gondola lift. Before the first part of the descent from Rinderberg Spitz in the direction of Parwengebire, you have to climb another 20 meters over the ridge of the Rinderberg. The second part of the descent really begins at the Horneggli mountain restaurant. Singletrack, forest and hiking trails take us down to fashionable Gstaad. We roll along the district and main road to the Wispile valley station.
Another gondola ride awaits us. The gondola can transport a maximum of 4 bikes. A short break with coffee and cake on the Wispile shortens the waiting time until all the bikes have arrived at the mountain station. Enjoy the high-altitude trail from the Wispile mountain station. The next descent via the existing hiking trails to Lauenen is fun. We return to Gstaad through the Louwenental valley. We continue along the asphalt road or the signposted cycle path towards Rougemont in the Vaud region.
The third mountain railroad takes us back up to the next starting point, la Videmanette or Rocher à Pointes. Another very varied descent, exclusively on hiking trails, takes us down to the very picturesque village of Ruebeldorf near Saanen. The ascent to Schönried is done under your own steam via Ebnit, Gruben up to Schönried. An alternative would be the post bus.
The fourth and last mountain railroad Schönried - Horneggli is a chairlift. Sufficient time should be allowed for larger groups. A second coffee at the mountain station is a very good option to bridge any waiting time. The descent to Saanenmöser leads over very beautiful singletrail sections. In Saanenmöser, we ride along the old main road on asphalt until we reach the Oesch side. At the end, don't miss the exciting section along the Simme. Turn off towards Rychenstein as far as the bridge. This singletrail section rounds off the tour and the great experiences, and the round trip can be shortened and adapted at any time.
