The Niesehore can be tackled from the Iffigenalp, or with an overnight stay from the Wildhornhütte. From the Iffigenalp, the first meters of altitude are gained with a pleasant ascent through the Iffigtal. After this rather leisurely start through the wild valley, the route gradually becomes steeper and after another 300 m you reach the frozen Iffigsee. This is the perfect place to take a break before the rest of the climb. Nestled in the middle of high mountains, the Iffigsee is a true place of power. Refreshed, we continue to the Wildhornhütte. The ascent continues on the route to the Wildhorn up to approx. 2500 m above sea level before crossing the south ridge of the Niesenhore on the right. The Wildhorn massif is now behind you, with the Simmental and Saanenland looking to the north. At the summit, the view can be enjoyed to the full.
The descent first follows the ridge to the north, then branches off to the left into a beautiful slope where the fun really begins. Every meter of altitude gained on this fantastic descent can be savoured all the way to Iffigenalp.
