The route starts at Lenk and leads along the bike path on a mix of gravel and asphalt to Zweisimmen. Then it goes towards Oeschseite with steep sections to the Saanenmöser. The route leads down to Gstaad via Gruben, so the main road can largely be avoided here as well. Next is the longest climb of the route through the Turbach valley to the Rüwlispass. Again, there are sections on gravel and asphalt and even a very easy singletrail that follows the Turbach stream. The last 400 meters of elevation gain are steep again, and the final section from Zwitzeregg to the pass leads about 300 meters on the hiking trail. The tough ascent is compensated by the charming view of the surrounding mountains of the Simmental and Saanenland. The descent to St. Stephan is initially very steep, then well asphalted. Back to Lenk, it goes on the bike path.
