The route starts at the Leiterli mountain station. At the beginning, the route follows a gravel road up to Steistoos. Here, it goes onto a singletrail which steeply leads to Stübleni on the edge of the fantastic crater landscape Gryden. Most have to push briefly here. After Stübleni pass, the singletrail continues with a steady up and down to Tungelpass. Now the bike must be carried or pushed for about 300 vertical meters up the Hengstensprung until the summit high above the Iffigsee is reached. This passage is exposed and only for riders without fear of heights. The view of the rocky backdrop with the lovely mountain lake is breathtaking.
Now follows the highlight: the descent – a stony, tricky but mostly rideable alpine trail demands good riding technique down to the Iffigsee. In a similar style it goes over a mountain ridge with loose scree and tight switchbacks to Groppi. On the alpine road, Iffigenalp is soon reached.
After a stop at the Berghaus Iffigenalp, the next singletrail descent awaits, which after a few hundred meters leads to asphalt. To the right of the road, the trail leads into the forest over roots and hairpin bends past the Iffigfall on a sensational singletrail into the valley. Finally, it goes on the right side of the stream in a mix of gravel road and flowing singletrails down to the valley floor of Lenk. The last section really challenges, but those who have ridden this route up to here will probably call it flowing.
