This wonderful circular route starts at the mid-station of Stand Xpress and follows the snowshoe trail Metsch to the forest edge. From here, this trail ascends along the forest edge to the 6-seater chairlift Metschmaad, which lies just a few meters beside the Iglu Bar and is easily accessible with snowshoes. The route relatively flatly follows a snow-covered road towards Bühlberg before the descent back to the Stand-Xpress mid-station goes through remote fields on the snowshoe trail Metsch returning to the mid-station.

  • Approach

    Via Simmental road to Lenk and continue straight to the Stand Xpress valley station.

  • You can conveniently reach the valley station Stand Xpress by bus from Lenk station and then take it to the starting point of the route at the mid-station.

  • Free parking is available at the Stand Xpress valley station.

  • This snowshoe tour is signposted

  • The route is signposted. For snowshoe tours, appropriate equipment and necessary expertise (avalanche knowledge, alpine skills) are mandatory! If you lack experience assessing avalanche conditions in open terrain, it is better to go on a snowshoe tour with a trained mountain guide.

  • After the ascent, near the Metschmaad chairlift is the Iglu Bar, or at Bühlberg, just a few minutes from the route, the restaurant Bühlberg.
