Bogs are wet, nutrient-poor and acidic habitats. Only very hardy and undemanding plants and animals can survive here. As a result, you’ll find ‘specialists’ such as sedges, rushes, cottongrass and orchids in the bogs. Their distinctive colours and shapes characterise the landscape. Information boards along the path explain this valuable ecosystem.

  • Approach

    The Gstaad holiday region is located in the southwest of Switzerland, immediately on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun Lake region, the Geneva Lake area and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and all international airports of Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and comfortable arrival. The main means of transport in the Gstaad holiday region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous postbus lines.

  • By train to Zweisimmen and then by hiking taxi to Sparenmoos. (Hiking taxi: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday by reservation until 5 p.m. the day before at the Tourism Info Point Zweisimmen +41 33 722 11 33)

    Due to the limited number of parking spaces, we especially recommend parking at the railway station in Zweisimmen on Wednesdays and weekends and then taking the hiking taxi.
