Glorious and scenic mountain hiking route.

From Sunnbüel mountain station follow the mountain route in the direction of Gällihore. The actual ascent only starts from Gratsattel where the route carries on below Üschenegrat to Wyssi Flue and Schwarzgrätli. You can make the descent to Hotel Schwarenbach (Gemmiweg) or continue to the cable car mountain station or into Üschenetal. Not recommended in bad weather.

  • Approach

By car via Frutigen or by car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg

  • The Lötschberg to the south, the Kandertal to the north: this station between Brig (38 min.) and Bern (61 min.) is served every hour - an ideal base for many excursions.

The AFA bus runs every hour from Kandersteg railway station to the valley station of the cable car within 10 minutes. The gondola then takes you comfortably up to 1936 metres above sea level.
