From Iffigenalp, the first altitude meters are gained with a pleasant incline through the Iffig valley. After this rather leisurely start through the wild valley, it slowly becomes steeper, and after another 300 meters of altitude, the frozen Iffigsee is reached. This is the right place to take a break before the further ascent. Nestled among high mountains, the Iffigsee is a true place of power. Refreshed, you continue to the Wildhorn hut. The ascent continues on the route to the Wildhorn up to the Chilchli glacier, before turning left to Schnidejoch. In 2003, remains of Schnidi were found here, who wanted to cross the pass into Valais already 6500 years ago. From here, it is only another 180 meters along the ridge to the summit. The 360° panorama with the Wildhorn, the Valais four-thousanders, and the Wildstrubel is very impressive.

The descent from the Schnidehore begins with a very beautiful slope down to the Chilchli glacier and further to the Wildhorn hut. The second part of the descent is somewhat flatter but shines with broad, long slopes down to Iffigenalp.
