Running out is not possible; after a few meters along the Simme, it rises via Brand to Metsch, then continues at almost the same height towards the end of the valley and down via Staldeweid to Rezliberg. Just before the impressive "Sibe Brünne" – the source of the Simme, a photo stop is almost a must – the path branches off and leads through steep terrain up to the Flueseeli. Past the Flueseeli, make sure to turn around a few times and look down into the valley; the view is stunning!

It continues through rocky terrain towards the roof of the Swiss Trail Tour, which is reached in the high alpine terrain at the Tierbergsattel at 2,654 m above sea level. Now comes the descent, which leads past the Rawilseeleni, Stiereläger, and Blattihütte down to the Iffigenalp. The descent goes interestingly over switchbacks through the rocky wall between Rawilpass and Iffigenalp. Back on the Iffigenalp and familiar terrain from the previous day, the trail on Sunday takes the reverse route, from the Iffigenalp back to Lenk – the last finish!

  • Approach

From Bern, take the motorway to Latterbach, then take the junction to the Simmental. In Zweisimmen, at the roundabout, head towards Lenk.

From Fribourg, over the Jaunpass into the Simmental.

  • Reach Lenk by train. Timetable at SBB. Continue on foot from the station.

  • In summer, free parking spaces are available in the village of Lenk.

  • Swiss Trail Tour: the unique 3-day trail running race is an experience for every trail runner!

Those who prefer to run a single day can run Sunday as a 1-Day event.

Additionally, on Sunday, there is a mountain run to the Iffigenalp and kids' races in the village.
